From the selection of donors and recipients to the equity of the organ. In Chile, with the implementation of the Organ Donation and Transplantation Law (Law No. 19,451), the Public Health Institute and transplant ethics committees play a crucial role in contributing to supervision and guaranteeing fair allocations.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0015"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">3</span></a></p><p id="par0015" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Bioethics consultants, as suggested in the article, would be crucial in these instances to help both medical professionals and patients and their families navigate these complex processes. Consultants could offer real-time advice and support clinical decision-making that respects the patient's values ​​and preferences, while maintaining clinical practices within an ethical and legal framework.
