This year marks 100 years since the death of Franz Kafka. Often in general medicine, and internal medicine in particular, doctors face situations in which they position themselves as the only guarantor of the patient in relation to society and how it conceives the disease. Many times, patients come to us without a diagnosis or with the fear of it; sometimes also rejected by their environment. This short text addresses this current topic, paying tribute to the brilliant writer and his best-known work, Metamorphosis.
Este año se cumplen 100 años de la muerte de Franz Kafka. A menudo en la medicina general, y en medicina interna en particular, el médico se enfrenta a situaciones en las que se posiciona como el único garante del enfermo frente a la sociedad y cómo esta concibe la enfermedad. Muchas veces los pacientes acuden a nosotros sin un diagnóstico o con miedo al mismo; en ocasiones también rechazados por su entorno. En este pequeño texto se aborda este tema de actualidad rindiendo homenaje al genial escritor y a su obra más conocida, La metamorfosis.
